Family owned and operated; Larry & Chris Elbert started operating Summit Transmission in 1990 when they took over the business from its previous owner - Andy D.
After successfully operating the shop in Richmond Hills for 14 years, they decided to move the shop to Hanover where it sits on 2 acres of pastoral property. They were able to upgrade their equipment both for repair and diagnostics, while continuing to give excellent service to their loyal customers.

We do our best to keep you informed every step of the way. Of course, the work we do is of the highest quality.
For the latest in computerized engine diagnostics, visit Summit Transmission today.
Today, most cars are controlled by computers!
The fuel injectors, the spark plugs, the steering system and more are all told when to fire and when to move by an onboard computer system.
If something's going wrong with your car or engine, your onboard computer can tell you about it; it will turn on a dashboard light, like "ABS
Brakes" or something less specific, like "Check Engine".
Some people try to disregard their Check Engine light. And some have even gone as far as disabling it and that could be a costly move!

Summit Transmission has the latest automotive diagnostic equipment to identify what part of your engine or vehicle needs service. Often, it has something to do with increased emissions. Once we determine what the problem is we will carefully review with you what (if any) work needs to be done and exactly how much it will cost.
